Spencer Walker
Scenographer
To Whom It May Concern:
I hope to be considered for a position in your company that will allow me to grow as a theatre artist and technician. Thanks to the well-rounded education from the University of Kansas, where I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theater Design, with a Minor in Metalsmithing, I feel prepared to take on a variety of positions in technical theatre. I am currently working towards a graduate degree in Scenic Design with the University of South Dakota, where I am gaining more experience in research, rendering, drafting, and presentation of ideas. Additionally, I have been trained to work in a scene shop, prop shop, costume shop, and with lighting and sound. My passion is being able to work with my hands in order to bring ideas to life. My experience as a metalsmith has helped hone my detail work.
I am confident in stating that my strengths include working with metals, soldering and MIG welding, power and pneumatic tools, scenic painting, and hand and computer drafting. Furthermore, I am gaining experience in costume and prop crafts.
I am currently serving in the United States Air Force-190th Kansas Air Guard Refueling Wing where I have learned the value of hard work, self-discipline, time management, and personal sacrifice.
I hope you will consider me as a potential employee in your company. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact me at 785.840.7877 or at spencer.a.walker@gmail.com. References are available upon request.
Thank you for your consideration.
